BEST PRACTICES FOR SAFETY, SECURITY & NAVIGATING THE SPACE
Discord / Links
Use 2 Factor Authentication (2FA): This prevents anyone from changing your password if they hack your account.
Do not click links unless you are 100% sure you know it is not a scam.
Do not enter random Discords unless you know 100% it is a legitimate project.
If unsure, take a screenshot and post in The Alliance, and we can verify for you.
You can copy & paste pictures in Discord, if you don't need to save, quick & efficient.
Founders / Discord Owner
Create a second account that holds Ownership of your Discord that is never used for interacting with anyone.
Then if your account is compromised they can not transfer ownership to their account, and you will not lose your Discord.
Be careful who you give full Admin permissions, best to be safer.
Hire Mods from within your community who you know you can trust, you will get multiple offers per day from non-holders who may be bad actors.
We would advise you not to use chatters and fake Discord engagement services, as it isn't really a good look, and will most likely upset holders. You will notice this if you go in a Discord. and it seems like there are 100's of LFG, To the moon, and random nonsense being written.
Use this to show all users their time zone. https://r.3v.fi/discord-timestamps/
Hardware wallet / Ledger / Trezor https://www.ledger.com/academy/basic-basics/2-how-to-own-crypto/what-is-a-crypto-wallet A hardware wallet is a physical device that stores the private keys to your cryptocurrency funds away from the internet. Even if you make transactions with it, the wallet confirms the transactions in an offline environment. This process helps keep your private keys away from the risks of the internet at all times.
Wallets Have multiple wallets for various uses. 1. Ledger / Main wallet that you only connect to staking websites, always verify it is the correct site, that you have clicked through from their Discord or website. Bookmark it. 2. Buy / Sell wallet that you use for buying and selling NFTs & Tokens. 3. Minting Wallet: Having a wallet only used for minting has advantages for speed and safety, only load up enough Ada you need to mint.
Please share anything we can add to this list, or if we can improve.
X / Twitter - https://help.twitter.com/en/safety-and-security/account-security-tips Use 2 Factor Authentication (2FA): This prevents anyone from changing your password if they hack your account. Do not click links unless you are 100% sure you know it is not a scam. Running too many giveaways from your account can ruin your reach, as many use alt accounts to enter that are pretty much unused accounts.

Seed Phrase Store your seed phrase safe and securely. Never share your seed phrase for your wallet. Ever. Signing Transactions Avoid blind signing transactions Verify smart contract transactions and know what you are signing. Don’t trust – always verify. Make sure the entity you’re transacting with is legitimate whether in DM or publicly.
